It is possible to attain this maximum speed but due to certain reason it is not possible to gain the maximum speed. A number of factors are responsible for this. Firstly, this DSL technology slows down in speed if somebody in our neighborhood is also accessing Internet at the same time. As DSL network shares a common bandwidth within a locality, the speed of access is naturally decreased with the number of users accessing the net at the same time. Often the Internet service is disrupted by the congestions in the network. So, this also affects the speed of access. DSL technologies also have a facility to limit the width of their band of services to the users. This limitation is calculated on the basis of the usage of the user. These limitations are employed by the use of speed caps. This factor also affects the speed of access. DSL connection speed is an important factor that needs to be secured from various reasons that affects the speed. Internet Service Providers are making their best efforts to accomplish the task.
